About Converse
The Converse Rubber Shoe Company opened in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908 and the company's catalyst came in 1917 when they introduced the All-Star basketball shoe. In 1932 they added the famous basketball player at the time, Charles H "Chuck" Taylor's name to it. He became the brand's ambassador and promoted the shoe around the Unites States. The shoe's design has remained largely unchanged since it's introduction and although it started off as a basketball shoe, it flourished into popular culture and fashion as casual footwear and through decades have been largely portrayal in film, art, music culture as well as in skateboarding.
